A Shower Full of Love & Pretty Details

Danielle’s bridal shower at Whalers in Bay Shore, NY was the kind of day that feels like it belongs in a storybook. Set right on the water with a peaceful backdrop, this shower was a dreamy mix of sweet sentiments, thoughtful details, and so much love.

Throughout this post, I’ll be sharing little tips and inspiration you can use when planning your own bridal shower!

From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted with soft pastels, fluttering butterflies, and golden-framed memories of Danielle and Colson, each element delicately curated to reflect the bride’s warm heart and bubbly spirit. The theme was loosely based around petals and femininity, and everything, from the floral arrangements to the signage, felt charming, colorful, and joyfully her. Pink, Danielle’s favorite color, was placed throughout the decor.

it's all in the details...

You can tell how much thought went into the planning each and every detail. A white flower wall with a pink LED “Bride to Be” sign, a mirrored welcome sign thanking guests for showering Danielle with love, a custom countdown-to-the-wedding display, a mannequin showcasing a bridal denim jacket, and even a chest filled with bridal accessories, each piece thoughtfully chosen (some even made by Danielle herself!)  The dessert bar was beyond amazing, featuring a delicate yellow cake and an array of beautifully crafted cookies that looked almost too good to eat.

A particularly special detail was a photo of Danielle’s grandmother, lovingly placed on the seating card table to honor her memory. It was such a beautiful reminder that even when someone can’t be there physically, their presence is still felt in the celebration.

If you’re planning a shower or wedding, consider incorporating your loved ones in small, meaningful ways, whether it’s a framed photo, a favorite flower, a handwritten note, or even a recipe they were known for. These thoughtful touches not only keep their memory alive but also bring an added layer of love and connection to your day.

Danielle shared what she loved most about planning her shower:

“My favorite part of planning was envisioning the big picture! I knew I wanted an elegant, airy, yet girly and fun vibe, so searching for and curating all of the details to make that vision come to life was so special and exciting for me!”

Later in the afternoon, we stepped outside with Danielle and Colson for photos by the water. Their happiness and love for each other were absolutely radiant, and it made for the sweetest portraits.

The venue plays such an important role in how photos turn out, and Whalers couldn’t have been a better choice. The room is filled with bright natural light, the room is absolutely beautiful, and the outdoor area overlooking the bay adds a stunning variety to the gallery. Having both indoor and outdoor spaces made Danielle’s photos feel effortless and full of variety.

Inside, the games had everyone laughing, “Guess the Dress,” “What’s in Your Purse,” and the classic Shoe Game all brought fun to the shower. The prizes were little pink bags with pearl handles that fit the theme so perfectly.

There was also a build-your-own bouquet bar, which was such a hit. Adding something interactive like this is always a great idea, it gives guests a chance to mingle, have fun, and leave with a keepsake that feels personal.

Having Post With Joy as the content creator added another layer of fun. Collaboration meant every moment, both candid and planned, was beautifully captured on photo and video (we love a good reel!)

Danielle reflected on the most meaningful moment of the day: “The moment that meant the most to me was when my fiancé showed up at the end! I know it’s planned and cliché, but I was having SO much fun and so in the moment during the shower that I completely forgot and was genuinely shocked! (Plus he brought TWO beautiful bouquets with him—who is luckier than me?!) It was so nice having time at the end of the party to spend with my love, family, and friends all together!”

Danielle’s thoughtful planning and joyful spirit made this day unforgettable, not only for her but for everyone who shared it with her.
